About the Author:

Jasmin Hajro was born on July 6th, 1985 in Bosnia and Hercegovina. He grew up in

the village of Gora and went to school there.

When the war started, the family moved a few times in Bosnia, and eventually, Jasmin,

his mother, and his sister fled the country. His father stayed back to fight as a soldier.

The family fled to the Netherlands where he resides now.

Jasmin suffered serious personal tragedies both mentally and physically before he started

his company in 2015, Hajro, selling greeting cards and gift mugs door to door and ventured

into writing after work.

He wrote and self-published his first book, Build Your Fortune, in 2017.

He is now the author of more than 50 books.

His books are published in both the Dutch and English languages.

The Hajro company donates to two charities in the Netherlands. Jasmin’s website is

Recipe for Happiness

In this book, Recipe for Happiness, Mr. Jasmin Hajro says it eloquently in the context below. He advocates looking at things no matter how grave, or painful, in a lighter vein, as he has experienced with his painful past. Everyone has a choice to either be happy, wallow in self-pity, or be miserable with their troubled circumstances.

Here’s an excerpt from his book that I find to be motivating and encouraging. His positivity and eagerness to impart the value of happiness are exemplified in the book.

Choose to be happy.

Of course, there are tough times in life,

like when someone you love, dies.

That's part of life.

Those times of grief you just have to go through and process.

Processing is best done by talking about it,

to get it off your chest regularly.

Or by writing about it,

if you write down a situation or your feelings about

it, then it's on paper, and it is out of your head.

Writing is a good outlet.

Shobana’s Note:

As I was reading his book, I could sense Mr.Hajro’s sincerity in reaching out to people who look for assurances that everything will work out fine in the end and that they have to persevere no matter the situation or troubles. Everyone has a choice as he says, to choose to be happy - rid your thoughts of anxiety and you will find that problems are solved better with a clear and happy mind.

Mr. Hajro has proven that what he writes here, he has used for his own personal journey in life. He has built a sustainable business and achieved remarkable success with integrity and a charitable mind. He also donates to two charities every month and helps people with disabilities.

In spite of all the hurdles that he has encountered, he is a self-made man, who followed his instincts and his heart to get to where he is today.

A very inspiring person, who wants to impart his experiences in life as a lesson to the people around him.

I would recommend this book as a good read and request that you support Mr. Hajro’s initiative to share his knowledge and experience by buying his books in order to live a happier life. Mr. Hajro’s efforts are to live a happier life with everyone contributing towards it.

Mr. Hajro quotes in his book, “And I hope, that we can together make a contribution to more happiness in the world.”
